TfT Blurb

Established as a DOC in 1968 and a DOCG in 2010, the Amarone has a fascinating production process which involves drying the grapes in wooden crates for upto 3 months after they have been picked. This process reduces the water content and inturn concentrates the flavour and sugar content within the grapes.

Pressing and fermentation begins with a gentle crushing, followed by a steeping on the skins and a slow fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 40 - 60 days. Aged in 7 and 23 hectoliter barrels made of Slovenian oak for 18 months and it continues in stainless steel tanks for 18 months. Aging in the bottle varies from 6 to 12 months.

This wine is a real game changer!

Winery Information

Azienda Agricola Manara

Manara winery is located in the heart of Valpolicella Classico area, in the Veneto region.

This family-owned company runs 11 hectares of vineyard, situated in a hilly zone among San Pietro in Cariano, Negrar and Marano Valpolicella municipalities.

Since Angelo Manara founded the winery in 1950, it has been run by its family members for three generations, maintaining local wine-making traditions with growing experience and passion.

The new generation, represented by brothers Lorenzo, Fabio and Giovanni Manara, is taking care of both the entire production and marketing process of the winery.

The new and practical wine cellar implemented by them, facilitates and optimizes the different phases of the production and it allows to obtain quality wines, while maintaining their typicality unchanged.

Wine is produced respecting the characteristics of the "terroir", in order to create recognizable wines. This is why grapes from different harvest zones are vinified separately.
